Life in Alabama

WELL!!! People have asked me in the past if I thought I would ever be happy living in Alabama after some of our past postings. It is nice to go out to eat here in the states, get sweet tea with free refills, and not have to float a small loan for the meal out! It is nice to be able to get in the car and head to Walmart without making arrangements for the car. It's great to go into a grocery store and be able to read labels. Loved our apartment in Moscow, but it's nice to be here in Alabama where we can be outside more. It's really fun to go and enjoy a movie at the theatre instead of watching the dvds from Ismalova. BTW I loved Mama Mia!

Ron is busy trying to get Visas sorted for our recee trip, medicals lined up so we can start the malaria prevention meds, and checking in with the office. We have also been enjoying some great family time and had over 25 people here for a Labor Day Cookout. The chance to spend extra time with family is a definite plus to being stateside!!!

We are currently waiting for our passports to return with our Visas for Angola in order to travel next week for our recee trip. We are going with an open mind and expecting the worse so anything positive with be a nice surprise. Who knows it could turn out to be a fascinating place like Russia! Just for giggles I added a poll at the bottom of this blog to see who would accept a posting in Angola. Please vote!



Farmer Ron in his "do rag!" Never thought I would see this but Ron claims they work great!
